Isabelle Schad has invited 26 performers from 11 countries for Experience #1 and developed a piece out of her many years of research into the relationship between the processes of embryonic development and choreography. From a mass of cells into organisation, to an organ, to an organism – this they translate together into movement and a complete body is created on stage. Inspired by Henri Michaux’s mescaline experiences and drawings in ’Huit Expériences’, images appear from the mass and transform into an organic composition. Intricately folded away from and into each other, the 26 bodies set their bundled energy free in space as continuous movement.
