Initially "ENCAJE" was a solo conceived by CUB-US Choreographer Judith Sánchez Ruíz, performed in various scenarios of China, US, Spain, and Germany. "ENCAJE for Ten" is an international intensive experimental work for 10 unique individuals performers from diverse ages, races, cultures, and countries.
“ENCAJE for Ten” will be a tribute to be ourselves, to find ourselves inside and outside, to dance with our closest monster and say hello without shame. It is a dance with our many three or four selves, the many me/you changing constantly, the piece is an abstract experience of our 24 hours in our daily life in 30 minutes of layering, transforming, subjects, moods, images, physicality, and emotions like a radio.
When greed and indifference is that status quo, it’s time for conversation.
