For their project named „Hans im Glück“ Peter Stamer and Kike Garcia work in close relation with the intercultural centre MÄDEA by Foundation SPI, who need support with the acquisition of a set of stage lights for their theatre projects. The girls and young women of MÄDEA provided the AUSUFERN-artists with a small handmade sculpture made by them. This served as the starting point of the massive undertaking happening over the course of three months. The duo Stamer and Garcia started on 2nd of June looking for people who are willing to swap the sculpture in a chain of items with increasing value. Will they manage to obtain the required theatre lamps?
„Hans im Glück“ is laid out as a video reportage, portraying those living in this hood, their understanding of happiness, of wealth and their values. Presenting how bartering and exchanges, transactions and communication are forever intertwined, uncovering the invisible network of socio-economic connections. Lastly, without much fuss and in an unconventional manner „Hans im Glück“ aims to solve a problem that emerged due to the lack of funds. On the third of August Peter Stamer and his guests will introduce you to the current state of affairs.
