Over the course of several weeks choreographers Lea Martini and Daniel Almgren-Recén collected multi-faceted voices in the surroundings of Uferstudios. They followed signs and telephone numbers passed to them on bits of paper, they rang doorbells and posted notes, inviting people to join them for personal conversations. A lot of people reacted very openly and accepted the invitation.
What was your life like ten years ago? What dreams did you have back then? How might you yourself from back then view you and who you are today? Which dreams, or visions are true for you now? How do you picture yourself in the future? Originating from questions just like these they opened up some personal doors to rooms not always present in the day-to-day: memories of a near and yet far away past, the personal which may turn political, the complicated, the usual as well as the illusionary.
The city sociologist and film maker Nils Plambeck, who managed to create some poetically distorted film recordings of Wedding, adds the visual to the individual voices. Interwoven these two elements create a kaleidoscope of stories.
The lucid landscape of dream and space constructed in combination of both image and sound in Atelier 64 can be visited from 1st until 4th July. You can hear and view the installation for as long as you like, as the following invitation is extended to you: linger, listen or even snooze, before going back to your daily life.
