The Forum Theatre Play for 5 actors plus 1 Joker was a commission for the opening of a Festival in Scotland. It is a play based on this report looking at Poverty in Scotland: https://lankellychase.org.uk/resources/publications/hard-edges-scotland/
Morag, like all of us, is playing the Great Game of Life. She wants the game to be fair but this isn’t a game of chance or skill when the rules are against you from the start. A background of poverty and violence means Morag is forced to play games of fortune with services when she wants to be able to control her own path. Is it inevitable there will always be winners and losers? Can you shape a different outcome for our protagonist? We originally performed this play on Zoom as a piece of Legislative Theatre.
The play will be turned into a live performance at KURINGA Festival which may include a mixture of live action and filmed work. The piece is currently 20 minutes long.
