Uferstudios GmbH is owner and operator of Uferstudios and editor of this website. In addition to maintaining the overall location and long-term rental to the following partners, it manages eight studios, which are available for short-term rental to freelance artists, as well as offering free shared rooms. In addition, in the interest of networking and synergy, it creates an open reference point for the questions, proposals and initiatives that arise here, issues the monthly newsletter for all the public events on the site and encourages the networking of artists and ideas as well as the opening of Uferstudios through various projects in the immediate neighborhood. Apart from individual projects, Uferstudios GmbH work is carried out without public funding. The studio rental is open to all artistic projects in the area of dance, choreography, performance and is based on the principle "first come, first served".
ada Studio, founded in 2006, moved into Studio 7 at Uferstudios in April 2011. It offers young choreographers and newcomers to the scene in Berlin opportunities to produce and present their work within the frame of the series „NAH DRAN“, „10 times 6”, „neworks“ and „S.o.S.“
The Inter-University Centre for Dance Berlin (HZT) is an internationally oriented training institution jointly carried by Universität der Künste Berlin and the "Ernst Busch" Academy of Drama (HfS) and in cooperation with TanzRaumBerlin, a network of the professional dance scene. The three HZT study programs - Contemporary Dance, Context, Choreography (BA), Solo/Dance/Authorship (MA) and Choreography (MA) are experimental and link artistic teaching, academic basics and career guidance.
Tanzbüro Berlin initiates and supports projects that strengthen and integrate the Berlin dance scene. It offers artists concrete advice and maintains an ongoing dialogue with policy makers for optimizing working and funding structures of Berlins contemporary dance scene. It’s legal body is the association for contemporary dance (Zeitgenössicher Tanz Berlin e.V.), the advocacy group for all dancers and choreographers in Berlin. Tanzbüro Berlin closely collaborates with the Network TanzRaumBerlin.
Tanzfabrik Berlin is a center for the development and mediation of contemporary dance. This includes the promotion and support of young and established artists, the combination of theory and practice as well as international exchanges. As a place for production, research, education and a dance school, the Tanzfabrik has been actively and internationally known for more than 30 years with its headquarters in Kreuzberg. Since 2010, Tanzfabrik Berlin has been expanding its platform with festivals, residence studios and offices. In addition to the extensive course program at the Kreuzberg site, Tanzfabrik Berlin also offers a regular, class program in Wedding - Mondays to Thursdays.
