“About rooms, where is no turning back at their ends.
About forgotten things that I only know how I could have done better.”

The inspiration for the research during the residency in the ada studio are encounters with people with dementia in an ambulant residential facility. Especially the contact and conversations with the architect Mr W. in one-on-one support. During the time together, thoughts have interwoven and were interrupted in many places.
Together with the sound artist Joëlle Serret, movement, text and sound are used to encounter remembering and forgetting and the socially foreseen places and forms of interaction for them.
We will encounter various questions:
What aesthetics can be found in care facilities? Which logics, breaks and jumps are brought about by dementia in the thoughts and body perception of those who are affected? How can mutual communication be achieved through facial expressions? Which gestures of care work connect the bodies that are involved? How to deal with vulnerability and the experience of care as an encroachment on and violation of the intimate sphere?
What is there? What is lost What comes out and connects?

"reinkommen" ("coming in") is ada Studio's latest performance series. It gives young choreographers the opportunity to open their work process, invite the audience to come in and to get into conversation.

Funded as part of the pilot project Residency Funding Dance of the Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Europe.
