Description

Konturen / Contours is a microscopic festival in which a video release is surrounded by performances and exhibitions. In one evening, we show the music video work “Contours” from 2020 as well as individual performance, video and paper works by artists which have participated in the music video.

Even music videos which stand for the liberalism of pop are populated by young, healthy and strong bodies. In „Contours“, bodies who most often do not appear in pop music videos are staged in their own glam. Staggering and leaning are as much part of the picture as safe sitting, kneeling and exzessive slowness. In their individual works, performers of the video carry the idea of staging their own bodies even a little further. In the choreography of Daria Dominique Dönch, the voices of her friends and the skirt of her grandma let her know that she will get by. Ariane Hassan Pour-Razavi shows a video work in which her own and real hair become a moving object. Michaela Maxi Schulz explores thresholds of pain, shame and stress of parenthood. Matilda Carlid exhibits paper works with the title “At dusk of the ducks" in the courtyard and Silja Korn and Sophia Obermeyer investigate in their performance physical relations by way of language even if their bodies never do what their words claim they would.

The replay of "Konturen / Contours" is supported by Fonds Darstellende Künste with funds from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media within the program NEUSTART KULTUR. The production of the video “Contours” was financed by the IMPACT funding of the Senate Departement for Culture and Europe. With the generous support of the PSR collective and Uferstudios.

The project got developed in the frame of Netzwerk MAKING A DIFFERENCE: SOPHIENSÆLE, Tanzfabrik Berlin, Uferstudios, tanzfähig, Hochschulübergreifendes Zentrum Tanz Berlin, TanzZeit, Diversity.Arts.Culture and Zeitgenössischer Tanz Berlin. MAKING A DIFFERENCE is funded by TANZPAKT Stadt-Land-Bund paid from funds of the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media and Senate Department of Culture Berlin / Co-financing fund.
