DRYCRY builds a geographical parallel from the memories of vast infinite arid landscapes of south Iran to the high-altitude arid horizons of the Andes Bolivia. In this piece cobracobra takes memory as a multisensorial way of understanding the question of place to create atemporal sites of remembering and belonging. The performerns carry landscapes within their personal and social histories to reverberate loss, injustice and resistance through a choreography that resurfaces emotions through the insistence on dance. In DRYCRY, sorrow unleashes tender, contained physical manifestations. In between past histories and future dreams, melodies, beats and voices vibrate the last drops of the waters left and dance marks a gradual disappearance where sweat turns into tears. cobracobra takes the stage as a spatial disturbance that connects to other places, times and people; a rift through which wounded landscapes within their social contexts are re-imagined and built otherwise.
