
"In this regular training we experiment with the transitions of dance, improvisation and the Indian martial art Kalarippayattu.
The class begins with a simple mobilisation of the joints, followed by breathing and playful strengthening exercises as well as improvisations for spatial awareness and sharpening of the senses and concentration. The low animal poses of Kalarippayat like tiger or elephant pose are grounding and awaken instinct and sensitivity, high jumps and kicks unfold our explosive power. In a relaxed, non-judgemental and non-competitive setting, we develop power and flexibility, strength and softness, speed and endurance in equal measure. Kalari Berlin is an intensive body-mind training and at the same time an artistic and social exchange and networking opportunity. Looking forward to moving with you."
